How does life evolve in cosmic system… through cycle of sufferings and happiness! In absence of one the other carried no meaning. If we have to extract one KG of gold from its ore we have to pass it through various mining machinery and processes. The 100 KG lump of ore containing one KG of pure gold starts reducing in size… 88 KG lump of ore containing one KG of pure gold, 57 KG lump of ore containing one KG of pure gold and so on until the lump reduces to one KG of pure gold.
The impurities surrounding one KG of pure gold could be removed only through cycle of sufferings and happiness. In case of ore when it was boiled, heated… it was time for sufferings. The same lump when passed through cold water, it was like experiencing happiness! Sufferings in life were purely based on karma. As our indulgence accordingly manifests our destiny… as we sow so shall we reap nothing more or less! At no stage of life sufferings could be eliminated altogether.
Sufferings come to naught only when human beings reached stage of enlightenment forever. For this our indulgence in path of spirituality was necessitated.
As detailed in Bhagavad Gita the human form was but a medium for soul atman to cleanse self of dross impurities within… work out its karma! Both sufferings and happiness were part of karma, two sides of the same coin. As a mortal human being we suffered in life. But in life cycle of souls’ atmans nothing much happened… it was just like changing of guards at Buckingham Palace, a routine daily affair. If we desire emancipation from cycle of birth and death, liberation from cycle of sufferings and happiness… our undertaking spiritual journey as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was necessitated.
