For a soul atman to cleanse self, as ordained by God… we underwent a cycle of both happiness and sufferings. In absence of sufferings, happiness carried no value. In absence of happiness, sufferings do not mean anything. Both were two sides of the same coin. It is only through maze of happiness and sufferings life evolved in cosmic life cycle.
The diamond Kohinoor was not fetched from mines as it is. It is only after passing through various manifestations of mining machinery and processes do we have the finished diamond. In the journey of life a soul atman reaches stage of absolute purity only by indulgence in karma. The precept of karma entails both happiness and sufferings in life.
If we are to separate one KG of pure gold embedded in 100 KG of gold ore… we need passing this ore through various mining machinery and processes. Ultimately we would reach a stage when we had one KG of pure gold embedded in 80 KG of gold ore, one KG of pure gold embedded in 56 KG of gold ore… one KG of pure gold embedded in five KG of gold ore. Finally we have only one KG of pure gold, 99 KG surrounding dross impurities within removed forever.
In human life also karma works that way. By indulgence in requisite karma we keep removing dross impurities within. One KG of pure gold means becoming an enlightened one… a Jina, a Mahavira forever! The cosmic journey of life for a soul atman finally comes to an end. Having become a pure soul atman, the need to manifest another body now ceases to exist.
For mankind to evolve, both happiness and sufferings were part of cosmic life!
