Duality is not part of adhyatmik life. Duality only exists in the physical world. Can we see God? No! Brahm has always been nirakaar (without a form) and this aspect of Brahm can only be understood by a sadhaka, traveler of adhyatmik path. The problem in present times is, all people are dharmic yet they called themselves adhyatmik, which is untrue. Dharmic means, indulgence in karma kanda way of life. All dharmic people regularly visited temples for prayers, attended religious functions like bhajans and kirtans, attended satsangs and involved in myriads of religious activities not directly associated with Brahm.
Brahm never lived in temples, it always resided in our heart as our Atman. Those who visualized Brahm in Sarkar form (having a form) were totally mistaken. The goal of all dharmic people never was reaching God, realizing Brahm. They were primarily interested in material wealth or the welfare of self and family. Does this mean that all people who worshipped sakaar form of God were wrong? No ! For commoners, masses who were not able to conceptualize nirakaar form of God, worshipped him in Sakaar form. it was normal and accepted. As our concentration over God increases, we shall switch to nirakaar form of God.
Sanatana Dharma in bhagavad gita advocates following nirakaar form of God. There is zero ambiguity about this absolute fact of adhyatmik life. I have come across people who regularly went to temples for decades in search of God, but gained nothing! When Brahm can only be reached practicing dhyana and brahmacharya, why indulge in sakaar form of God and waste our time. The earlier we understood this cosmic truth, the better for us. Since five years of age I indulged in nirakaar form of God and never had a problem even once. Finally at 37 years of age I was blessed with sakshatkaar with Brahm for 2 1/2 hours.
Adhyatmik pursuit of life can never be undertaken leisurely, it is a continuous 24 hour pursuit, 365 days of the year. If we can indulge in dhyana the right way for a period of 12 years in continuation along with brahmacharya then reaching state of Swami Vivekananda becomes an absolute possibility. Two years more and you reach level of Ramakrishna Paramhansa. If we are serious about knowing Brahm in this very life, we must learn to distinguish between sakaar and nirakaar form of God in the early stages of life. Only then we can hope of reaching God in present lifetime limited by 70 to 80 years of earthly life.
