Ifs and buts carried no meaning in spiritual world. Everything in world of spirits, consciousness was absolute. If we were a spiritual being manifesting human form… we were! If Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says so, then as a seeker we should accept it.
In absence of happiness what value of sufferings! Inversely in absence of sufferings what value of happiness! Only when one existed, we valued the other! Duality was part of nature. If we have day we also have night. If we have fire we also have water! If we experience happiness, we also underwent our part of sufferings. It is only through cycle of happiness and sufferings life moved ahead in cosmic life cycle. This was how doctrine of evolution and karma worked.
Every soul atman manifests human form to work out its karma. Imagine 100 KG lump of gold ore containing one KG of pure gold. Could we separate one KG of pure gold without putting the iron ore into requisite mining machinery and processes! This one KG of pure gold was a pure soul atman. It is surrounded with 99 KG of dross impurities within. While removing 99 KG dross impurities within, the human form passes through various stages of happiness and sufferings. This was how life evolved in cosmic life cycle.
