Veil of Illusion Concept of Maya Adi Shankaracharya Philosophy

The present cosmos is covered by veil of illusion (not delusion) as detailed by Adi Shankaracharya in the theory of Advaita Vedanta. As per Adi Sankara the whole cosmos could exist only in thoughts of God Almighty. When perceived from senses point of view things appeared solid including living beings. Perceived from cosmic point of view, broken down to basic building block of cosmos, the entire cosmos was made up of clusters of atoms and molecules, nothing more.

As per Advaita Vedanta doctrine propagated by Adi Sankara nothing other than God Almighty existed in cosmos. The entire cosmos was but a manifestation of God Almighty. As the measure of time on mother earth was speed of light, our whole system was governed by this philosophy of life. For life to progress we need to have a timescale on which we could base our philosophies, theories. As the human entity was but a medium for our soul atman to work out its karma, our role in cosmic affairs of life was limited.

A to Z of cosmic life can only be perceived by undertaking spiritual journey and reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). Why ponder over matters over which human beings had no control whatsoever. There is always a possibility in future that human form evolves to a stage when physical limbs carry no further meaning. Maybe then we could travel at much higher speeds than present. The doctrine of Maya of Hinduism translates to veil of illusion, ignorance.
