What is Brahman in Hinduism Bhagavad Gita Advaita philosophy Adi Sankara

Precepts of spirituality explained in scriptures of Hinduism could never be understood literally, they demand reading in between the lines. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita Brahman (God Almighty) was beyond any definition, detail or explanation. All explanations of Brahman were beyond comprehension of words. Simplicity is not the right word. It is following path of spirituality not simplicity human beings finally reached God Almighty (Brahman) in all its glory. Indulgence in spirituality means entering world of spirits and our soul atman, the consciousness within was spirit that manifested human form to work out its karma.

The precept of Brahman can be distinctly understood by following doctrine of Advaita Vedanta. As per Advaita philosophy God Almighty (Brahman) was the only truth of life. Nothing other than God (Brahman) existed in cosmos. Broken down to basic building block of cosmos, clusters of atoms and molecules… the whole cosmos was just gaseous formation. We appeared solid viewed from senses point of view, in reality as human beings we were nothing more than cluster of atoms and molecules. Everything solid was only a concept of physical manifest world. Viewed from cosmic angle all was gaseous formation.

Our indulgence in contemplation, logical reasoning was necessitated to understand everything relating to Brahman. As per Advaita philosophy the present cosmos does not seem to have a boundary. If it does have, then what beyond! As propagated by Adi Sankara the whole physical manifest world existed only in thoughts of God Almighty. As per Adi Shankaracharya everything results from Maya (veil of ignorance). Dominated by a bloated ego we failed to realize reality of spiritual life… existence of world of souls’ atmans. In fact God Almighty (Brahman) existed in all living beings including human beings in miniscule form as our soul atman, the spirit within residing in our heart.

Understanding God (Brahman) was not that easy. One needs becoming a Swami Vivekananda to understand hidden underlying cosmic precepts of life contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. Read more on Brahman
