The 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita had no reference to caste system. Bhagavad Gita deals with Varna based on which society was divided into four classes. Those indulging in religious practices were called Brahmins and those in security of the state… Kshatriyas! Those indulging in trading were called Vaishyas and those serving mankind in general Shudras.
All the four varnas directly relate to karma indulged. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita if a Brahmin by birth indulged in trading, one would be termed a Vaishya, never a Brahmin! A Shudra indulging in study of Vedas, Hinduism scriptures would be termed a Brahmin, never a Shudra! Finally, it was karma that governed human nature, our Varna and not the birth.
