Bhagavad Gita explicitly says every single human being on mother earth had a spark of divinity within to reach stage of enlightenment and finally moksha salvation. In Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna segmented society into four Varnas (Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra) that had nothing to do with caste. Lord Krishna relates to God Almighty only as an avatar (God manifest in human form), nothing more!
My belief is… every single human being on mother earth irrespective of Varna could indulge in path of spirituality to reach God in one’s lifetime. As path of spirituality demands indulgence in contemplation… it was very unlikely that Shudras would ever indulge in path of spirituality to reach God. God could not be reached via worship or prayers. All temples of God in India were only a medium to pray to God.
Six years of age when I accompanied my mother to Jain temples, I was told that we must worship God in form of idols kept in the temples. I never believed in rituals. I stopped going to temples and started my indulgence in path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning! 31 years of indulgence in spirituality, yoga meditation… I finally reached God in the wee hours of third of August 1993 37 years of age. Not for once, non-indulgence in religious practices came in way.
I could see God in all affairs of life, in every living being… existing as our soul atman, the consciousness within! If I truly wanted to reach God, know God… I only had to reach my true inner self existing in my heart as my soul atman, the spirit within.
