12 Year Period of Exile forced on Arjuna by Kauravas is Symbolic

The 12 year period of exile forced on Arjuna by Kauravas is symbolic. Before one gained enlightenment, understood cosmic essence of life… practice of celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years was necessitated. During 12 years of exile Arjuna indulged in practice of celibacy to expedite full awakening of kundalini shakti, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine.

As wisdom of Bhagavad Gita by Lord Krishna unfolded on Arjuna… he reached stage of enlightenment finally succumbing to wishes of Lord Krishna in principle to fight the Kauravas head-on. All thoughts of Moha (extreme emotional attachment) towards family and friends disappeared forever. Even his maternal grandfather Bhishma Pitamah and Guru Dronacharya seemed arch enemies. Arjuna finally realized folly of his thinking and prepared self for battle of Dharma (righteousness).

With malice towards none, Arjuna finally indulged in battle of Mahabharata wholeheartedly.
