Prime reason why entire creation is termed an act of Maya (veil of illusion) by Adi Shankaracharya, the reason for God Almighty (Brahman) creating present cosmos was known to none… not even enlightened ones or avatars (God manifest in human form). The cosmos just creates of its own, not even in control of God Almighty. Though God Almighty is the creator of cosmos but it also could not stop the cosmos from forming. If we look at big bang theory everything becomes clear of its own.
When dissolution of old cosmos occurred (Pralaya in Hinduism), all souls atmans in cosmos automatically reached 8.4 millionth manifestation, last in cosmic life cycle. In spiritual parlance all souls’ atmans automatically became pure at the time of dissolution of cosmos. This magnanimous primordial cosmic energy, collective power of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their pure form is what we called God Almighty (Brahman) in all its glory. Unable to retain itself for long in its prime pure state Brahman (God) again explodes with a big bang to form present cosmos and starts cosmic journey of every soul atman.
Even Bhagavad Gita explicitly states that human beings are not supposed to ask why God Almighty created entire cosmos. As the cosmic journey of life from first manifestation to last was a long one, every soul atman initially manifests the form of amoeba (single cell formation), the first manifestation in cosmic life cycle. It further evolves into multi-cell formation, insect life, plant life, animal life and finally human form. Before soul atman manifest human form for the first time, a soul atman had already manifested 7.3 million bodies in insect, plant and animal life. In the remaining 1.1 million manifestations in human form one was expected to reach stage of enlightenment.
Why God made cosmic journey such a long one is known to him only. The whole cosmic journey was covered through inscrutable laws of karma and evolution. All manifest forms of life right from stage of amoeba to human form were but a medium for soul atman to cleanse itself of dross impurities within. We enter the chakravayuha of life not of our own nor do we know when we shall leave (when death occurs). It is in our interest as a human being, the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle to indulge in path of spirituality to gain emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever. As an enlightened one finally understands the crux of cosmic life! All queries within disappear forever.
