All scriptures of Hinduism including Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads cover topic of masturbation but inversely. Hinduism scriptures advocate practicing Brahmacharya Vrata (celibacy) to channelize sexual energy towards the only goal of life. In absence of practice of Brahmacharya Vrata one could never succeed in full awakening of kundalini shakti, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine. For travelers of spiritual path indulgence in absolute celibacy was integral to reach stage of self realization, god realization.
Sexual energy as detailed in scriptures was the most potent of all energies made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty. Some whiled it away through pure physical channels; others channelized it towards the only goal of life. We can understand where lay the difference between success and failure!
