The human survival was directly linked to inner beauty, never external! All enlightened souls that manifest on mother earth could not be considered beautiful in terms of external beauty. Let us take case of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana, the two spiritual stalwarts who gained enlightenment in the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over.
Their internal beauty spread far and wide. People flocked to them in hordes, queues exceeding many miles. External beauty lay in the eyes of a beholder but internal beauty could be realized only from within. When we were pure in our heart, the whole atmosphere… everyone around appeared serene. For a person full of vice, only external beauty mattered. Only people who were truthful could visualize inner beauty, the real essence of life! The external beauty was only a means to get the progeny going. If partners were ugly, the birth rate would go abysmally low jeopardizing evolution on mother earth.
