Most human beings world over indulging in religious practices wanted the best of both worlds. In the physical manifest world they wanted absolute control over their destiny… manifest success and live a happy life. After death all wanted to go to swarga (heaven), the preferred abode as stated by religious pundits, clergy!
In our ignorance we failed to realize that swarga (heaven) existed in core of sun where temperatures exceeded millions of degrees centigrade. Swarga heaven was a place for hibernation of soul atmans, nothing more. After death of human form, if the released soul atman does not get matching parents on mother earth it hibernates in heaven swarga if the residual balance of karma at the time of death was positive. Longing to go to swarga heaven was misplaced.
As ordained by God we could indulge in religious practices or undertake spiritual journey. We just could not ride two boats at the same time. Traveler of spiritual path always desires permanent emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever… gaining enlightenment and finally moksha salvation! Any interim arrangement was never acceptable to a serious traveler of spiritual path. The spiritual aspect of life becomes clear from the fact that nothing worldly could be taken to next life. What transfers was residual balance of karma… nothing more!
