Heaven (swarga in Hinduism) was the size of core of sun where existed all souls atmans. As detailed in Upanishads (independent treatises) Heaven was a place in core of sun for hibernation of souls’ atmans where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. It was in such high temperatures our soul atman felt comfortable. After death of human form if matching parents were not available on mother earth, the soul atman hibernated in heaven if the residual balance of karma at the time of death was positive… in hell (naraka), if negative.
