The goal of all religions in this world always was promoting their scriptural texts for human beings to reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation. Spirituality was part of religion, not distinct from it! Indulging in ritual practices one never reaches God. God can only be realized, one can reach stage of enlightenment only by indulging in sacred texts of different religions of world.
All religions primarily promoted religious harmony but followers of different religions, unable to follow precepts of spirituality contained in a religion indulged in petty skirmishes all the time. Such a practice could not be stopped by one, it was inevitable! All religions were like different branches of a tree. Whence came, the breeze… all the leaves on different branches made noise.
As long as humanity exists, followers of different religions would continue making noises… for no reason or rhyme!
