Spiritually continuity was integral part of cosmic system. Life continues from one manifestation to another through inscrutable laws of karma and evolution. After death of one form, the released soul atman manifests another form based on residual balance of karma at the time of death. Life keeps evolving until the inherent soul atman reaches stage of absolute purity.
The death of an ordinary mortal announces that soul atman of one would again manifest a new form based on residual balance of karma at the time of death. The death of an enlightened one announces one getting free from cycle of birth and death forever. The liberated soul atman finally gains entry into kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
Liberation from cycle of birth and death can be achieved only by indulgence in spirituality, yoga meditation to reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation!
