If we are getting desired results… fine, we should continue with what we are doing. However, yoga meditation is best indulged via path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning as detailed in Bhagavad Gita. In present times to reach inner confines of scriptures path of contemplation was the only route. We can understand gist of Bhagavad Gita following path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom). And path of jnana yoga demands our indulgence in contemplation most of time.
Going to a retreat for indulgence in self was never necessitated. After all, what was the goal of meditation? To find peace within, to reach God if our goal of life was spiritual! For both these purposes indulgence in contemplation was an absolute must. We have to solve all our queries from within. Only then we could reach peace, find peace within. Peace could never be found externally, it always existed within us, in the confines of our heart.
Remaining wherever we were, in the confines of home we could indulge in contemplation all the time. I did so from six years of age and finally succeeded in reaching God in 1993 37 years of age.
Whatever be our goal of indulgence in meditation, we must understand the logic behind indulgence in meditation. We were primarily a spirit, consciousness existing in our heart. We as a soul atman manifest human form to remove dross impurities within. If we desire peace within, if our goal of life was spiritual… it was only through path of contemplation we could reach our true inner self existing in our heart.
By indulging in proper yoga meditation via path of contemplation we could activate our brain to 100% capacity. Normal human beings used their brain 1 to 2%. Indulgence in meditation, contemplation was not difficult but the present lifestyle made it difficult to practice. The initial progress on path of contemplation was minimal as immediate results were never guaranteed. But in the longer run results poured in automatically. Precepts of spirituality unveiled of their own any given moment of time.
