The positive residual balance of Prarabdha karma was responsible for luck in present life. Based on residual balance of karma at the time of death our soul atman manifests a new body. But a portion of karma does not fructify immediately and is termed Prarabdha karma. So that intelligent human beings do not manipulate inscrutable laws of karma, God Almighty ordained so.
If the residual balance of Prarabdha karma from previous manifestations was positive, we might be lucky to win a large lottery. If the residual balance of Prarabdha karma from previous manifestations was negative… we all the time suffered for no fault of ours in present life. Unless we neutralize the negative residual balance of Prarabdha karma from previous manifestations by indulging in good karma, positive karma in present life… our sufferings would never cease.
Every single human being on mother earth could be lucky if we had a positive residual balance of Prarabdha karma in our kitty. There was no room for any guess as everything results from karma indulged by us in present or past! Human beings who blamed God Almighty for their woes were ignorant.
