Shiva lingam denotes union of soul atman and mother earth. Sexual energy is the most potent of all energies made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty. Lord Shiva is the most powerful attribute of God (Brahman in Hinduism). The serpent in the neck of Lord Shiva represents full awakening of kundalini shakti. The blue body of Shiva represents retention of Vish (poison) in the body while churning both positive and negative thoughts that flowed to our brain every second.
The Amrita (elixir of life) results in full awakening of kundalini shakti! When human beings indulged in Samudra Manthan (churning of thoughts internally), both Vish (poison) and Amrita (elixir) generates. Seekers used Amrita to reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation.
