Karma affects Children exactly in the same way as Adults

Karma affects children exactly in the same way as adults but intensity of the same may vary on karmic scale. Similar as juveniles are not awarded capital punishment and sent to correction homes, it is quite possible in case of children points awarded on karmic scale varied compared to adults. From spirituality point of view as detailed in Bhagavad Gita chances of variation were nil as the entire journey of 8.4 million manifestations in the life of a soul atman was one single span of life… totally unbroken, uninterrupted.

If children erred in their actions unknowingly and get hurt or hurt others then the implications of karma were born by the child. If the child has not been properly tutored and on this account the child suffers then it is karma of the child that he was born to irresponsible parents. At the time of birth it is the child that chooses the parents and not vice versa. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita a child could never criticize ones parents who brought one to mother earth. If the parents acted irresponsibly it was our fate or luck.

When the citizens of a country choose their leader then karma indulged by the leader is attributed to all citizens of the country equally. None could escape this responsibility. If the leader acts in bad faith, it is we who elected him. If we suffered on this account… it is our fate or luck. Most parents always took care of their children. But for working parents knowingly or unknowingly lapses can always occur. This does not mean we start blaming our parents for their folly, negligence!

In case of a family the karma of the individual is always affected by collective karma of the family. The doctrine of mass karma takes care of that. If knowingly or unknowingly the child commits a heinous act then it is not only the karma of the child that gets affected. Parents also suffered on this account. Karma is a precept of Hinduism that is often misunderstood. More on karma
