In Yesteryears Tapasvis preferred Colder Climate of Snow-clad Mountains to avoid Menace of Mosquitoes

In yesteryears yogis primarily indulged in tapasya (penance) in deep dense jungles (forests) where the epidemic of mosquitoes was much widespread than in present times. Prime reason why Tapasvi’s preferred colder climate of snow-clad mountains to avoid the menace of mosquitoes etc.! In the higher reaches of Himalayas, animals also were limited.

In older times, the body of yogis was highly evolved… in much better shape than today. Indulging in yogic exercises asanas as necessitated they successfully increased resistance of their body phenomenally so as to fend off mosquito bites. And in this Ayurveda came to their rescue.
