Children can indulge in yogic exercises (asanas) but to a limited extent. Indulgence in yogic exercises was only a precursor to indulging in yoga, path that led to God Almighty! Before indulging in spirituality, we need possessing a robust body. This was accomplished by yogis and Rishis of yester era by performing a set of asanas before indulging in contemplation, logical reason… self enquiry!
Asanas not only keep the body fit and fine, they also act as a soothing balm giving feelings of tranquility intermittently. Yogic exercises help one maintain composure, keeping anger in control. Indulging in yogic exercises children would experience feelings of inner calmness, happiness most of time! Serious indulgence in asanas must always be done under guidance of a guru adept in asanas.
