The concept of hell (naraka) as detailed in scriptures of Hinduism was not only apt but also logically understandable. Scriptures of Hinduism say God was Nirakaar in form (having no form). It was also Nirguna (attribute less). Ever since formation of cosmos God Almighty acts as Dhrishta (onlooker) never interfering with creation of his. The whole cosmic system was directly governed by inscrutable laws of karma and evolution.
Going to heaven or hell was totally dependent on karma indulged by individual human beings on mother earth. Going to heaven and hell was not a property of physical manifest body but our consciousness, soul atman existing in our heart. After death of human body based on residual balance of karma at the time of death our soul atman immediately manifest a new body to start new journey of life. If matching parents were not available on mother earth the soul atman hibernated in heaven or hell. In heaven (swarga) if the residual balance of karma at the time of death was positive and hell (naraka) if negative!
Both heaven and hell exist in sun. We just could not expect human beings to go to heaven or hell bodily. No sooner matching parents become available on mother earth the hibernating soul atman immediately manifests a new body to start new cycle of life.
