Free Will Hinduism Do We have Free Will

Free will is one of the most integral, inherent precepts of Hinduism. It is only because of free will not in hundreds but thousands gained enlightenment in their lifetime in India and erstwhile Bharatvarsha. Unless we exercised free will, one could never reach stage of enlightenment and finally salvation moksha.

Law of karma is that inherent precept of Hinduism based on which life moved ahead in cosmic life cycle. In absence of karma and evolution nothing in cosmic system would move, everything would become stagnant… decay and die. As we sow so shall we reap nothing less or more says law of karma. As our indulgence in karma accordingly manifests our destiny say scriptures of Hinduism.

Karma was inherent in every living being including human beings. In absence of karma why would anyone, every single living being indulge in any action whatsoever?

Brahma was only an attribute of God Almighty having nothing to do with absolute reality. As per scriptures of Hinduism the only truth of life was God Almighty, Brahman in Hinduism, the one and only God who created present cosmos. God always acts as Dhrishta (onlooker) never interfering with creation of his. Everything in cosmic system was directly governed by inscrutable laws of karma and evolution.

Laws of karma had no relationship with religion. Imagine a period in past when not a single religion existed on mother earth. Still, people survived, lived their life. Laws of karma and dharma (righteousness) governed life of human beings during those times. Even in present it was laws of karma and dharma that are governing apart from Law of evolution.

The precept of karma has been explicitly detailed in Bhagavad Gita, the sermon given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata. It was indulging in nishkama karma yoga and jnana yoga human beings finally reached God. The stage of enlightenment means our karma negating to zero forever. To understand precept of karma and free will our indulgence in path of contemplation was necessitated.
