Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says one who could practice spirituality even while living in family was the biggest Yogi of all. In present times we do not need becoming an ascetic, a recluse. We also do not need going to deep dense jungles (forests) for indulgence in contemplation, introspection. Staying wherever we are we could always indulge in path of spirituality to reach God in present life.
Living life of a Grihastha (family life) was difficult when traveling spiritual path simultaneously but was not impossible.
I started in search of God six years of age. At 15 I asked my mother permission to leave confines of home forever. I wanted to go to Himalayas to contemplate. My mother bluntly said, over my dead body. Thereafter it was never looking back. Even while living in family I continued my search for God. 31 years of indulgence in yoga meditation, path of spirituality… I finally realized God in 1993 37 years of age.
