Wisdom (jnana in Hinduism) is the path, gaining enlightenment end goal of human life. In yesteryears various sages and saints succeeded in reaching god via path of bhakti yoga alone (total surrender to God) but in present times none could reach God via path of karma yoga or bhakti yoga alone.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana started their search of God via path of karma yoga and bhakti yoga but finding stage of enlightenment could not be reached via path of bhakti yoga alone both finally switched to path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to reach God.
Reaching God means reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation moksha!
Path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) was necessitated to contemplate on teachings contained in sacred text of different religions of world. It is only following path of jnana yoga human beings finally succeeded in unveiling hidden underlying cosmic precepts of life contained in sacred texts of Hinduism.
We must be absolutely sure on one point that enlightenment can only be gained by indulgence in teachings of Lord Krishna contained in Bhagavad Gita.
