If we desire knowing path to God Almighty then we must indulge in teachings of sages like Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. Both these spiritual stalwarts reached stage of enlightenment in their lifetime, the only two people to reach God in the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over.
Swami Vivekananda, the famous disciple saint of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa could have easily reached stage of enlightenment in his lifetime. When Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa bluntly asked Swami Vivekananda why he came to him if goal of his life was not gaining enlightenment, he point-blank replied back only to assess, realize presence of god.
The goal of life for Swami Vivekananda always was serving the community to its best and in that he excelled.
If our goal of life was religious indulgence then there was no dearth of religious saints like Sai Baba of Shirdi… namely Paramahansa Yogananda, Lahiri Mahashaya, Guru Gorakhnath, Trailanga swami etc.
Saints like Sant Tukaram, Eknath, Namdev, Samarth Ramdas, Kabir, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Jnaneshwar fall into the category of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana!
