What use reading the scriptures ritually, literally! No matter how many times one reads Bhagavad Gita nothing becomes clear. Upanishads (independent treatises) deal with spiritual aspect of life. Only those desirous of traveling spiritual path must indulge in Upanishads, never otherwise. Unlike Bible and Quran Upanishads contained much deeper aspects of spirituality that could never be assimilated literally.
It is following jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads human beings world over reached stage of enlightenment. Following teachings of Bible and Quran none could gain enlightenment in present life as these scriptures relate more to religion (rituals) than inner wisdom (path of spirituality).
