Committing suicide abruptly halts cosmic journey of soul atman, consciousness within. As per Bhagavad Gita present journey of life was manifested by our soul atman, the spirit within. It is not within competence of human body to manifest a spirit, soul atman within!
As the present journey of life belonged to our soul atman, human beings had no right to terminate this journey of their own. Doing so results in negative marking on scales of karma. Most human beings who indulged in suicide did it with a view that the next manifestation by soul atman would be better. However the opposite was truth.
When we indulged in suicide, the negative marking results in our soul atman taking a new form at a lower grade! If we stood at karmic index of 8,200,900 then due to suicide we may reduce to karmic level of say 8,100,900 resulting in a new birth at much lower level than present.
Why indulge and mar our present and future!
