Spirituality could not be defined in terms of any religion. We just could not say Hindu Spirituality, it does not mean anything. Spirituality was irrespective of any religion, faith or belief. The doctrine of spirituality lay in the fact that we were primarily a spirit, a spiritual being manifesting human form.
As detailed by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, the total purpose of human manifestation was gaining emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever… becoming a pure soul atman! Indulging in spirituality, path of yoga meditation when human beings gained enlightenment, moksha salvation… the cosmic journey of life for a soul atman finally comes to an end. Devoid of dross impurities within, the pure soul atman need not manifest a human body again. The need to manifest a new body ceases to exist! The liberated, pure soul atman finally enters kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
All the 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita, the principle Upanishads (independent treatises) and all four Vedas pointed towards this absolute fact of life that human beings must indulge in spirituality to reach stage of enlightenment, moksha salvation. To complete cosmic journey God Almighty ordained a cycle of 1.1 million manifestations in human form. Gaining enlightenment was never that easy. We could do it in present life or leave it for future manifestations. All depends on what we want in life.
I never wanted to endlessly rotate in cycle of birth and death forever. Around nine years of age I finalized my absolute goal of life… go in search of God! 28 years of indulgence in yoga meditation, path of spirituality I finally succeeded in reaching God in 1993 37 years of age!
