Total Surrender to God demands Decimation of Ego Aham in Hinduism forever

As detailed in Bhagavad Gita total surrender to God was difficult in a Kali Yuga (Dark Age, metal age). Even without indulging in karma, one could surrender to God via path of bhakti yoga. Indulgence in karma was not necessitated. By becoming ego less, one could indulge in service of mankind. One on path of bhakti yoga makes self invincible. For a true practitioner of bhakti yoga other than God Almighty nothing existed. Total surrender to God demands decimation of ego forever.

In a Kali Yuga indulgence in karma was primary. The value of karma was highlighted by Swami Vivekananda. Unless we indulged in karma, we could never burn karma in totality! Just by touching feet of wife and child one could never absolve self of bondages of karma. This grave mistake was committed by Siddhartha Gautama for which he suffered until the last leg of spiritual life. Siddhartha Gautama gained enlightenment when he neared 80 years of age. At 81 Gautama Buddha left mortal frame.

In the last about 150 years only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment. Both these spiritual stalwarts initially started their search of God via path of bhakti yoga (total surrender to God Almighty) but finding God could not be reached via path of bhakti yoga alone, both finally switched to path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) and nishkama karma yoga to reach God in their lifetime.

Karma can be burnt in totality by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind… a truly difficult task in present Kali Yuga.
