All human beings directly evolved from stage of animals. If the human population was increasing… it owed its existence to more and more animals evolving to human form. As detailed in Bhagavad Gita we were primarily a spirit, consciousness that manifest human form to cleanse self of dross impurities within.
The first stage of the cleansing process occurs when soul atman manifests form of amoeba (single cell formation), the first manifestation by a soul atman in cosmic life cycle. It further evolves into multi-cell formation, insect life, plant life… animal life and finally the human form. Human form was the last stage in cosmic life cycle. Enlightenment can be reached only in human form, never lower forms of life.
Enlightenment announces, in absence of dross impurities within… a soul atman regaining its lost pure prime pristine primordial form forever. The soul atman finally emancipates forever from cycle of birth and death. The ultimate goal of human life always was, we as a soul atman gaining absolute purity!
