All Scriptures of Different Religions of World were divided into Two Parts the Scriptural Text not to be followed Literally and Mythology a Means to an End

Whatever is contained in epics Ramayana and Mahabharata must be interpreted in light of today! We must never indulge in scriptures literally. If during times of Krishna the battle was fought with bows and arrows, we do not fight our enemy today loaded with AK-47 in similar fashion.

All scriptures of different religions of world were divided into two parts… the scriptural text not to be followed literally and mythology, a means to an end! Everything contained in mythology must be followed allegorically, metaphorically to understand the hidden underlying precept.

For example- Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita represents soul atman existing within every living being including human beings. Lord Krishna is always depicted as sarthi (charioteer) of the chariot (human body) belonging to Arjuna. This depiction makes it clear that to reach our true inner self, help of Lord Krishna, soul atman within was necessitated!

The teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, the sacred texts like Upanishads (independent treatises) contained jnana (wisdom) realizing which human beings reached stage of enlightenment in their lifetime. With passage of time nothing in Bhagavad Gita or Upanishads diluted. The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads were immortal.
