For Hours not a Single Thought entered my Brain It was Total Calm Absolute Tranquility Serenity

In pursuit of God from six years of age I often came across word Samadhi in my own house. My grandfather was a monk; a Jain Muni (became a naked Digambar Muni in the later stages of life). He often indulged in Samadhi. When I asked him point-blank what it was… he did not render a satisfactory reply! I was sure he himself did not know what Samadhi was all about.

When my indulgence in yoga meditation reached its zenith, after about 14 years practice of absolute celibacy I finally reached stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi when not a single thought entered my brain uninvoked. I was the master and controller not of my body but also thought process. The experience of remaining in Nirvikalpa Samadhi could never be detailed in words. For hours not a single thought entered my brain… it was total calm, absolute tranquility… serenity!
