In simple words meditation means concentrating our thought process towards a single goal of life. Unless we channelized our thoughts, thousands of thoughts kept flowing through our brain incessantly. Channelizing thought process demands, our indulgence in contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning to reach hidden cosmic truths of life. To reach God in present life we need to understand the meaning of spirituality, yoga… we also need distinguishing between religion, spirituality and Dharma.
Indulging in contemplation we finally succeeded in distinguishing truth from false, right from wrong. By hit and trial method we slowly distinguished god from trivialities of life dominated by five senses, mind.
To understand the underlying relationship between religion, spirituality and dharma, I took a period of more than three years. These 3 years I indulged in contemplation most of time. Finally I was able to clearly distinguish spirituality from religion and also dharma.
Looking from a very broad perspective most human beings on mother earth indulged in spirituality to reach God in their lifetime. In nutshell, I can say with 100% confidence that those who correctly understood meaning of spirituality would also reach the end… God Almighty himself! But how many people world over succeeded in reaching God in their lifetime!
In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching God. People indulged in religion (path of rituals) yet called it spirituality all the time. Can such human beings ever expect to reach God in their lifetime?
