I indulged in practice of meditation as people normally do worldwide. Not knowing what meditation was all about… About nine years of age one of my relatives took me to a so-called meditation centre where I was asked to concentrate on the center of a dimly lit candle in a completely dark room. When I asked what I was supposed to do, I was told to keep quiet and keep concentrating on nothing.
I quit going to the so-called meditation centre and contemplated on the deeper meanings of yoga meditation. Indulging in books relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana… even Bhagavad Gita I realized that purport of yoga was something different than what people indulged in. Yoga derived from root word yog meant effort of our soul atman trying to yoke with God Almighty (Brahman). This was totally an eye-opener. In Hindi two yog two equals four.
And thus I started my true indulgence in practice of meditation via path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga when going to bed in the night I contemplated on deeper meanings of life contained in scriptures of different religions of world. With time I started realizing the merits of path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom). My indulgence in scriptures via path of contemplation became a daily habit. As I was rightly indulging in path of yoga meditation, I was extremely happy from within. Something within told me I was going on the right path.
All my life while jogging, walking, sitting, swimming… indulging in hard-core business etc I indulged in yoga meditation via path of contemplation. I truly had 24 hours at my disposal to indulge in yoga meditation.
