Fear of death was the biggest fear experience by mankind. We could forever become free from all types of fear by travelling path of pure spirituality that directly led to God Almighty. The reason behind was self-explanatory. As we were primarily a spiritual being… a soul atman, the consciousness within manifesting human form, the fear by physical manifest form resulted from our ego (Aham in Hinduism).
When we identified self with the physical body, we feared in life. The moment we identify self with our true inner self… our soul atman, the spirit within… all types of fears vanished forever. So much so, one could look straight into eyes of death at any given moment of time! Those with a bloated ego were the most fearful of all. Those with spiritual inclinations never feared anything for they had nothing to lose.
When the journey of life belonged to our soul atman, the consciousness within… what was there to lose by the manifest physical human form? As detailed in trusteeship concept everything truly belonged to God Almighty. We were only a custodian, caretaker taking care of things that already belonged to God Almighty. In reality we were only a humble soldier of God doing his bidding all the time.
Everything material would be left behind moment death overcame us. Why fear anything for nothing belonged to us in reality. Even the earthly relationships were temporary. After death of present body… our soul atman, the spirit within would again manifest a new body to start new cycle of life. Everything in this world was ephemeral, temporal… all the causes of fears were also temporary, worldly.
As a soul atman, the consciousness within we must never fear anything in life, not even death as souls’ atmans were indestructible… could neither be created nor destroyed.
