The soul (correctly termed Atman in Hinduism) never lived inside a human body or the body of any other living being existing on mother Earth – be it an insect, plant or animal life.
All Atmans related to planet Earth always existed in the sun, mostly in the core and some in the periphery. After death of human body if the residual balance of karma is positive (one is granted Swarga, heaven) then the released Atman rests in the core of sun, if negative (one is granted Naraka, hell) then Atman rests in the periphery of sun, which is treated as a punishment.
The temperatures inside the core of sun vary between 1,000,000°C to 15,000,000°C and it is in such temperatures an Atman feels comfortable. The normal temperature of every Atman exceeds 1,500,000°C. If that is so, how can an Atman exist on planet Earth ?
As designed by Brahman (God), every Atman conducts its affairs on planet Earth through remote control. Amongst all living beings existing on mother Earth, only human species has a free will so that it can reach the cosmic end of life, 8.4 millionth manifestation, the state when the living being finally becomes free forever from cycle of birth and death. Actually it is not the living being but Atman that frees itself from the bondage of manifesting a body again and again.
As detailed in various Scriptures of Sanatana Dharma, every Atman manifests human form again and again to cleanse itself of dross impurities within. The moment an Atman reaches stage of absolute purity, it need not manifest a body again. The cosmic lifecycle of Atman is over. This also indicates that the human life is simply but a sojourn for Atman to purify itself. Only if all human beings on mother Earth could understand this primary truth of life !
