Why a particular child gets born in a particular family… because they were integrally connected through their balance of karma. It is the residual balance of karma at the time of death that decides in which family the child would birth.
Similarly, based on our residual balance of karma we invoked thoughts all the time… sometime positive, at other times negative! Invocation of thoughts was purely done by us as a soul atman, the spirit within. If we desire changing our thought pattern, then we need indulging in requisite karma.
We can expect only mangoes to grow on a mango tree, never guavas! Indulging in contemplation, introspection, logical reasoning we could, always mould our thought pattern all the time.
