For our Consciousness to reach Stage of Absolute Purity our Indulgence in Path of Jnana Yoga Absolute Wisdom was necessitated

The consciousness existing in our heart is our soul atman, the spirit! As detailed in Bhagavad Gita we were primarily a spiritual being manifesting human body.

Intelligence directly relates to physical manifest life. The moment a soul atman manifests a human body, it is governed by ego (Aham in Hinduism) and buddhi (intellect). As human beings exercised their intellect, indulged in books… scriptures… our intelligence level increased proportionately! Intelligence directly relates to our maturity. Bookish intelligence was different from path of wisdom.

In day-to-day affairs of life one was deemed intelligent if one was well versed in bookish knowledge, experience! In yesteryears when bookish knowledge was not as evolved as of today, it was experience that mattered. In those times experienced hands were considered intelligent.

Intelligence does not promote our spiritual journey. For our consciousness to reach stage of absolute purity, our indulgence in path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) was necessitated. Bookish knowledge was a means to earn our livelihood and live a meaningful life whereas spiritual knowledge helps negate karma to zero… reach stage of absolute purity!
