Hinduism aptly called Sanatana Dharma Primarily is Monotheistic as detailed in Bhagavad Gita The Sermon given to Mankind Arjuna by Lord Krishna in Battle of Mahabharata

Hinduism (aptly called Sanatana Dharma) primarily is monotheistic as detailed in Bhagavad Gita, the sermon given to mankind (Arjuna) by Lord Krishna in battle of Mahabharata. As per Lord Krishna, God was one and only one… called Brahman in Hinduism.

As commoners, masses… even seekers unable to conceptualize entity of Brahman created hordes of gods and goddesses to indulge in worship, prayers. All the gods and goddesses in Hinduism including Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva were attributes of God Almighty, nothing more.

In Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna emphasizes that all prayers, worship must be directly offered to Brahman, the one and only creator of entire cosmos. Brahman war Nirakaar in form (having no form) and also was Nirguna (attribute less)

All the gods and goddesses of Hinduism except Brahman form part of Hindu mythology, religion that had nothing to do with path of spirituality… that directly leads to God Almighty (Brahman).
