After 75 Years of Age entry into Field of Spirituality did not carry much Relevance even though Shastras Scriptural Texts Advised so

In India primarily in Hinduism, the average lifespan of human beings has been divided into four categories, ashramas… Brahmacharya (bachelorhood), Grihastha (married life), Vanaprastha ashram (stage of contemplation) and Sannyasa (ascetic life), each totaling about 25 years on an average (considering human life to be average 100 years)!

After crossing Grihastha ashram (family life) at 51 years of age one was expected to start indulgence in contemplation and finally after crossing 75 years of age one was expected to step into Sannyasa ashram.

Normally it is presumed Hindus would enter path of spirituality after 50 years of age but practicing spirituality even in Vanaprastha ashrama was sometimes not possible as human beings rallied after grandchildren increasing rather than scuttling bondage of Moha (extreme emotional attachment).

After 75 years of age entry into field of spirituality did not carry much relevance even though Shastras (scriptural texts) advised so. At that old age, family did not care much what path we chose. One was free to enter domain of God… indulge in spirituality, yoga meditation to reach God!
