Hinduism scriptures Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises) explicitly detail that swarga (heaven) was a place for hibernation of soul atman when matching parents were not available on mother earth. After death of human form the released soul atman immediately manifests a new body to start new journey of life. If matching parents are not available the soul atman hibernated in heaven or hell… in heaven (swarga) if the residual balance of karma at the time of death was positive and hell, if negative.
Heaven was not a place where exists God Almighty. When human beings gained enlightenment and finally moksha salvation… the liberated soul atman after emancipation from cycle of birth and death forever gains entry into abode of God (kingdom of God)… Vaikuntha in Hinduism, a point of no return!
None could go to heaven bodily as heaven (swarga) existed in core of sun where temperatures exceeded millions of degrees centigrade. It was in such high temperatures our soul atman felt comfortable.
