How does a child move ahead in life! No one goes to class 12 directly… all move from preschool, playschool onward. Scriptures, sacred texts existed in all religions of world. Those interested in path of spirituality indulged in them. One could realize God indulging in sacred texts and also path of contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning. For indulgence in contemplation one need not be a literate.
In the history of Hinduism many sages and Rishis were technically illiterate but following path of bhakti yoga they finally reached God. In present times if we desire reaching God, our following path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) was necessitated. This requires our being literate. Only then we could fathom jnana wisdom contained in sacred texts. God has nothing to do with our illiteracy. We were ourselves responsible for the same.
Indulgence in scriptures demands our being literate but to communicate with God, practice of only truthfulness was necessitated. Being 100% truthful all the time we could hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman coming from within our heart. Guided by voice of our soul atman one could reach God, communicate with God on one-to-one basis.
