Our ego was powered by five senses and mind. By establishing gradual control over five senses, control over ego follows automatically! At any given moment of life one of the two dictates us… our ego or the inner voice of our soul atman, consciousness existing in our heart! If we were 100% truthful in life, we could distinctly hear the sweet small promptings of soul atman coming from within. Travelers of spiritual path did it all the time.
We could control our ego by indulging in karma nishkama karma way of life! For a true nishkama karma Yogi, fruits of karma performed always belonged to God Almighty. As the present human body was manifested by our soul atman, the fruits of karma performed by physical manifest body also belonged to our soul atman. Traveling path of spirituality we could understand precept of karma in totality. To overpower ego forever, our becoming a trustee, caretaker in the journey of life was necessitated.
For a true trustee everything all the time belonged to God… one was only an instrument in the hands of God Almighty doing his bidding all the time!
