What do we think when we put money in the donation box placed in temples, that it goes directly to the abode of God! The gullible public fails to realize that their hard earned money was getting pilfered, wasted. It was neither safe with public trusts nor the local government. If we truly love god, we must directly serve god as stated by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita and not through a temple or its Pujari. If the money donated to temples was plundered, no one was at fault except the gullible masses themselves.
Born in a Jain family all my life I never donated money in temples. The caretaker of the temple who barely survived with a large family was my donation box.
