Avatar in Hinduism stood for saviour, messiah… God manifest in human form. When society reaches its lowest ebb, a point of no return then even man gods like Mahavira (24th Tirthankara of Jainism, preceptor), Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed failed to re-establish dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). Enlightened ones who are primarily spiritual people having nothing to do with administration. In times of total strife, tribulation to administer justice to masses, commoners coming of an avatar is mandated in scriptures of Hinduism.
An avatar is a deadly combination of a man God, an enlightened one and Chanakya (the most able administrator in the entire history of mankind). For Justice to prevail, to save lives of millions of civilians and soldiers Chanakya got hundred kings eliminated in one night. Such is the ferocity of an avatar that people trembled taking his name. During Dwapar Yuga, in times of strife tribulation came Lord Krishna and in present people await coming of Kalki avatar, the annihilator of ongoing Kali Yuga… Dark Age, metal age! Born an ordinary mortal, Kalki avatar would display powers that people called him god manifest in human form.
