Our ultimate attachment is towards our doership, the feeling of I. On path of pure spirituality when everything is left behind, what remained was I of our ego (Aham in Hinduism). To cut across ego is the toughest task of all for every traveler of spiritual path. To reach stage of absolute purity, our subduing ego forever was necessitated. This feeling of doership can only be eliminated through path of nishkama karma yoga, concept of trusteeship as detailed in Bhagavad Gita, the sermon given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata.
In the trusteeship concept we were only a custodian, caretaker of things that already belonged to God. We were only an instrument in hands of God. The trusteeship concept was best followed by Karma Yogis like King Janaka (father of Sita in Ramayana) and JRD Tata (the erstwhile scion of Tata Empire). Both King Janaka and JRD Tata all the time worked for welfare of mankind. Not for a single moment they worked for individual self. Behind every business deal of Tatas laid welfare of mankind, workers and staff. By travelling path of pure spirituality travelers of spiritual path finally overpowered their ego, I within.
