Sexuality was deeply linked to path of spirituality but in a different way. Similar as karma can be negated to zero only by indulgence in karma (never buy abandoning it); we could transcend sexuality by practice of absolute celibacy, channelizing sexual energy towards the only goal of life and not by direct indulgence in a sexual relationship! Unless we indulged in absolute celibacy, full awakening of kundalini could never be realized.
Sexuality often corrupts our thinking and this is exactly what happened with Acharya Rajneesh.
