How many people world over correctly understood meaning of meditation? One who truly understands also reaches stage of enlightenment in their lifetime. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment.
Without understanding the precept of yoga meditation whole world seems indulging in so-called meditation. Yoga is a precept, derived from root word yog… yoga means our soul atman trying to yoke with Parmatman (God)… Brahman in Hinduism! This is achieved indulging in meditation. And meditation is done indulging in contemplation, introspection… logical reasoning most of time.
Because Lord Krishna says so… we just should not accept anything on path of pure spirituality. We have to reach the logical reasoning behind by indulging in contemplation, introspection. Every single precept of spirituality laid in Bhagavad Gita must be contemplated upon. Many people world over write to me that they had read Bhagavad Gita several times but nothing becomes clear.
Literally one could not understand even a single word of Bhagavad Gita. Everything contained in 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita must be realized by indulgence in contemplation, logical reasoning… introspection. Prime reason why spiritual masters of different era advocate our indulgence in path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to reach the hidden underlying meaning of sacred texts contained in scriptures of different religions of world. In present times one could never reach God via path of bhakti yoga alone that demands total submission to God Almighty.
While indulging in spirituality we must always remember… our attempt should be never to gain anything. Bookish knowledge, literal reading means gaining intelligence but on path of pure spirituality we need negating karma to zero. Karma can be negated to zero by indulgence in jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. The moment a bulb is switched on in a darkened room, the darkness disappears forever. Similarly when the light of jnana wisdom shines bright, the darkness of karma vanishes forever. Indulgence in path of jnana yoga was necessitated only to remove dross impurities within our soul atman, negate karma to zero. It had no other purpose.
In my 55 years of spiritual travail I have yet to find a person indulging in yoga meditation correctly. My 40 days visit to several nations in 1985 yielded nothing. I took this trip only to assess the mental prowess of human beings indulging in spirituality worldwide. I went empty-handed and returned empty-handed.
Once we were well versed with process of indulging in yoga meditation, we must travel path of jnana yoga… indulge in teachings of Bhagavad Gita. Furthermore practice of absolute celibacy was necessitated for full awakening of kundalini shakti, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine. Not a single lapse was permitted. Sage Vishwamitra, a highly accomplished Sage of his era on sighting a maiden woman taking Bath in forlorn circumstances in deep dense jungles fell from grace. He had to repeat practice of celibacy all over again.
Full awakening of kundalini can only be realized via practice of absolute celibacy for 12 years in continuation. There was no other alternative. The moment our kundalini awakened fully, all chakras activated fully that very moment. Inversely stated it was activation of chakras in totality that makes full awakening of kundalini shakti. Moment that happens, Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petalled Lotus) existing in our brain behind forehead opens fully. One immediately becomes an enlightened one.
Opening of chakras was linked to our kundalini and it was further linked to practice of absolute celibacy. That was how God Almighty ordained spiritual life to be. There never were shortcuts on path of spiritual practice.
